National Workshop on Bankruptcy reform in Egypt: Within the framework of the “Middle East regional bankruptcy reform initiative” project, the Arab Center held a national workshop in cooperation with the Nile Advisory Group on “Bankruptcy Reform system” in Egypt on April 8, 2014. The workshop brought together Jordanian lawyers, judges, academics, and representatives of the concerned civil organization. The event included a brief review of the current bankruptcy system in Egypt, and a discussion about the suggested recommendations in order to develop and modernize bankruptcy system in Egypt. National Workshop on Bankruptcy reform in Jordan: Within the framework of the “Middle East regional bankruptcy reform initiative” project, the Arab Center held a national workshop in cooperation with Baker & Odeh foundation, on “Bankruptcy Reform system” in Jordan on April 12, 2014 at Grand Hayat hotel in Amman. The workshop brought together Jordanian lawyers, judges, decision-makers (members of the Parliamentary Committee) , academics , and representatives of the concerned civil organization. The event included a brief review of the current bankruptcy system in Jordan, and a discussion of the recommendations and the proposed amendments to the “Draft law of 2012 on restructuring the commercial activities, the provisions of bankruptcy and liquidation“. At the end of the event, the participants emphasized the need to review and amend the draft law of 2012 before being approved by the relevant committees. |
